Out of the Box Theatre Company presented The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard, June 18-20, 2021 on ShowTix4U.

In this critically acclaimed comedy, feuding theatre critics Birdboot and Moon — the first a fusty philanderer and the second a pompous and vindictive second stringer — are swept into the whodunit they are viewing.

In this hilarious spoof of Agatha Christie-like melodramas that follows, the body under the sofa proves to be an unexpected victim. As mists rise about isolated Muldoon Manor, Moon and Birdboot become dangerously implicated in the lethal activities of an escaped madman.

Tony Award-nominated Staten Island actor returns in The Real Inspector Hound

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A month before the COVID pandemic shut down Broadway, New Brighton resident Larry Marshall took his last bow on the stage of the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in the role of “Joe” on the closing night of the hit Broadway musical Waitress.

Now, 16 months later, he will perform in his first role since Waitress — as critic Birdboot in Tom Stoppard’s murder mystery classic, The Real Inspector Hound, in Out of the Box Theatre’s online production from June 18 to 20.

As you know, it has been a very long pandemic, especially for seniors in a nursing facility. The show provided a real bright spot for them and they loved it. We streamed it on the big TV in our lounge and everyone had a great time.
